INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BODY MOUNTING REAR CUSHION LH

(a) Temporarily install a new front suspension member body mounting rear cushion LH while confirming the installation direction.

NOTICE:

Position the front suspension member body mounting rear cushion in the correct direction.


(b) Install SST as shown in the illustration.

(c) Using SST, install the front suspension member body mounting rear cushion LH as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:

Make sure that there is no clearance between the front suspension member and front suspension member body mounting rear cushion LH.


2. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BODY MOUNTING REAR CUSHION RH

(a) Temporarily install a new front suspension member body mounting rear cushion RH while confirming the installation direction.

NOTICE:

Position the front suspension member body mounting rear cushion in the correct direction.


(b) Using SST, install the front suspension member body mounting rear cushion RH.

SST: 09830-10010

HINT:

Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

3. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BODY MOUNTING FRONT CUSHION

(a) Temporarily install a new front suspension member body mounting front cushion while confirming the installation direction.

NOTICE:

Position the front suspension member body mounting front cushion in the correct direction.


(b) Using SST, install the front suspension member body mounting front cushion as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:

Make sure that there is no clearance between the front suspension member and front suspension member body mounting front cushion.


4. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BODY MOUNTING REAR STOPPER

5. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BODY MOUNTING FRONT STOPPER

6. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER DYNAMIC DAMPER (for 2WD)

(a) Install the front suspension member dynamic damper with the 2 bolts.

Torque:

29 N·m {296 kgf·cm, 21 ft·lbf}


7. INSTALL FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM LH


8. INSTALL FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM RH

HINT:

Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

9. INSTALL STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)


10. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER BAR WITH FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)

11. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET LH (for 2WD)


12. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET RH (for 2WD)

HINT:

Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

13. INSTALL FRONT FRAME ASSEMBLY

(a) Slowly jack up the front frame assembly with an engine lifter using 4 attachments or equivalent tools.

CAUTION:

  • The front frame assembly is a heavy component. Make sure that it is supported securely.
  • Make sure to secure the front frame assembly to prevent it from dropping.

NOTICE:

Use the attachments to keep the front frame assembly level.

(b) Install the frame side rail plate RH and frame side rail plate LH with the 4 bolts and 2 nuts.

Torque:

A :

85 N·m {866 kgf·cm, 62 ft·lbf}

B :

32 N·m {326 kgf·cm, 24 ft·lbf}


(c) Install the front suspension member rear brace RH and front suspension member rear brace LH with the 4 bolts and 2 nuts.

Torque:

C :

85 N·m {866 kgf·cm, 62 ft·lbf}

D :

32 N·m {326 kgf·cm, 24 ft·lbf}

(d) Engage the 2 wire harness clamps.

14. REMOVE BELT


15. REMOVE ENGINE SUPPORT BRIDGE


16. REMOVE ENGINE HANGERS


17. CONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE


18. INSTALL FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the front engine mounting insulator assembly to the front frame assembly with the 3 nuts.

Torque:

52 N·m {530 kgf·cm, 38 ft·lbf}

19. INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR LH

(a) Install the engine mounting insulator LH to the front frame assembly with the 3 nuts.

Torque:

87 N·m {887 kgf·cm, 64 ft·lbf}

(b) Install the 2 hole plugs.

20. INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR RH

(a) Install the engine mounting insulator RH to the front frame assembly with the 3 nuts.

Torque:

87 N·m {887 kgf·cm, 64 ft·lbf}

(b) Install the 2 hole plugs.

21. INSTALL REAR ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the rear engine mounting insulator assembly to the front frame assembly with the 2 nuts.

Torque:

52 N·m {530 kgf·cm, 38 ft·lbf}

(b) Install the 2 hole plugs.

22. INSTALL STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY (for AWD)


23. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER BAR WITH FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY (for AWD)


24. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET LH (for AWD)


25. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET RH (for AWD)

HINT:

Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

26. CONNECT STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY


27. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH


28. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH

HINT:

Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

29. INSTALL FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM LH


30. INSTALL FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM RH

HINT:

Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

31. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH


32. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH

HINT:

Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

33. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH


34. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY RH

HINT:

Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

35. INSTALL FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT LH


36. INSTALL FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT RH

HINT:

Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

37. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for AWD)


38. FULLY TIGHTEN PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for AWD)


39. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


40. CONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2)

(a) Connect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

(b) Engage the 2 wire harness clamps.

41. INSTALL FRONT NO. 3 EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY


42. INSTALL CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (for AWD)


43. INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (for AWD)


44. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


45. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH


46. INSTALL ECM

48. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY
