Toyota Venza: Diagnosis System

DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

1. CHECK DLC3

(a) Check the DLC3 (See page ).


2. FUNCTION OF P/S WARNING LIGHT

(a) When a malfunction is detected in the power steering system, the P/S warning light on the accessory meter comes on to inform the driver of the malfunction.


HINT:

When power assist is stopped or reduced, the P/S warning light comes on.

Power assist is stopped:

  • When a malfunction occurs in the power steering system (including lost CAN communication etc.)
  • When the engine stalls (not a malfunction)
  • During the period after the ignition switch is turned to ON until the engine is started (not a malfunction)

Power assist is reduced:

  • When a malfunction occurs in the power steering system (including lost CAN communication etc.)
  • When the battery voltage decreases (not a malfunction)

3. CHECK P/S WARNING LIGHT

(a) Check that the P/S warning light comes on when the ignition switch is turned to ON and goes off in approximately 3 seconds.

(b) If the warning light remains on, refer to PS Warning Light Remains ON (See page ).
