ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT SHIFT LOCK CONTROL UNIT ASSEMBLY
(a) Inspect the shift lock operation.
(1) Move the shift lever to P.
(2) Turn the ignition switch off.
(3) Check that the shift lever cannot be moved from P to any other position.
(4) Turn the ignition switch to ON, depress the brake pedal, and check that the shift lever can be moved from P to any other position.
If the operation cannot be done as specified, inspect the shift lock control unit.
(b) Inspect the shift lock release button operation.
(1) Turn the ignition switch off.
(2) When moving the shift lever with the shift lock release button pressed, check that the shift lever can be moved from P to any other position.
If the operation cannot be done as specified, inspect the shift lock control unit.
(c) Check the key interlock operation. (w/o Smart Key System)
(1) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(2) Depress the brake pedal and move the shift lever to any position other than P.
(3) Check that the ignition key cannot be turned to LOCK.
(4) Move the shift lever to P, turn the ignition key to LOCK and check that the ignition key can be removed.
If the operation cannot be done as specified, inspect the shift lock control unit.

motor assembly (for rear RH side) and main body ECU (driver side junction block
assembly) stops for more than 10 seconds.

DESCRIPTION
The skid control ECU is connected to the combination meter via CAN communication.
The slip indicator light blinks during VSC and/or TRAC operation.
When the system fails, the slip indicator light comes on to warn the driver (See
