INSTALLATION
CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the steering intermediate shaft assembly and pinion shaft of the steering gear assembly, be sure to place matchmarks before servicing.
PROCEDURE
1. INSTALL TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Install the lock nut and tie rod assembly LH to the steering gear assembly until the matchmarks are aligned. Text in Illustration
HINT: After adjusting toe-in, tighten the lock nut. |

2. INSTALL TIE ROD ASSEMBLY RH
HINT:
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
3. INSTALL STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the steering link assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts. Torque: 70 N·m {713 kgf·cm, 51 ft·lbf} NOTICE:

4. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER BAR WITH BRACKET
(a) Install the front stabilizer bar with bracket to the front frame assembly.
5. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET LH
(a) Install the front No. 1 stabilizer bracket LH with the 2 bolts. Torque: 29 N·m {296 kgf·cm, 21 ft·lbf} |

6. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET RH
HINT:
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
7. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR BRACE
8. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH
9. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH
HINT:
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
10. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Connect the tie rod assembly LH to the steering knuckle with the nut. Torque: 49 N·m {500 kgf·cm, 36 ft·lbf} |

(b) Install a new cotter pin.
NOTICE:
Further tighten the nut up to 60° if the holes for the cotter pin are not aligned.
11. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY RH
HINT:
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
12. CONNECT STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
(a) Align the matchmarks on the steering intermediate shaft assembly and steering link assembly. Text in Illustration

(b) Install the bolt. Torque: 35 N·m {357 kgf·cm, 26 ft·lbf} |

13. INSTALL FRONT WHEELS
Torque:
103 N·m {1050 kgf·cm, 76 ft·lbf}
14. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
15. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
16. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER
17. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
