SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
1. POWER MIRROR CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
(a) This system has the following functions: power retract mirror function*, reverse shift-linked function, electrical remote control function, memory function and mirror heater function.
2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT
Component |
Function |
|
---|---|---|
Outer rear view mirror assembly |
Vertical mirror motor |
Receives a signal from the outer mirror control ECU assembly and adjusts the mirror surface position vertically. |
Horizontal mirror motor |
Receives a signal from the outer mirror control ECU assembly and adjusts the mirror surface position horizontally. |
|
Power retract mirror motor* |
Receives a signal from the outer mirror control ECU assembly, and retracts and returns the outer rear view mirror assemblies. |
|
Mirror position sensor |
Detects the mirror surface position. This data is detected by the outer mirror control ECU assembly. |
|
Mirror heater |
When the mirror heater switch on the air conditioning panel is operated, the air conditioning amplifier detects the switch operation via LIN communication. The air conditioning amplifier operates the engine room junction block assembly and mirror heater in accordance with the switch operation. |
|
Outer mirror switch assembly |
Mirror select switch |
Consists of R and L switches. One must be chosen to operate the outer mirror switch assembly. |
Mirror adjust switch |
Mirror R and L signals are sent to each outer mirror control ECU assembly from the mirror select switch. After selecting the R or L switch, the right, left, up and down control switches can be operated to change the angle of the mirror. |
|
Retractable outer mirror switch* |
Retracts and returns the outer rear view mirror assemblies. |
|
Seat memory switch |
When the seat memory M1 or M2 switch is pressed while the SET switch is being pressed, or the M1 or M2 switch is pressed within 3 seconds of the SET switch being pressed, a signal is sent to the outer mirror control ECU assembly (driver door), which records the mirror surface position. When the seat memory switch is pressed, a signal is sent to the outer mirror control ECU assembly (driver door) and main body ECU (driver side junction block assembly), which changes the mirror surface position to the memorized position. |
|
Outer mirror control ECU assembly |
Operates each mirror motor based on signals from the mirror select switch and mirror adjust switch. Based on information from the mirror position sensors, 2 different mirror surface positions can be stored. By operating a seat memory switch, the mirror surface moves to the stored position. |
3. SYSTEM OPERATION
(a) The remote control mirrors have the following features.
Function |
Outline |
---|---|
Electrical remote control mirror function |
When the outer mirror switch assembly is operated, this function moves the mirror surface vertically or horizontally to enable the driver to attain an optimal mirror angle. Setting the mirror select switch to the R position operates the right mirror, and setting it to the L position operates the left mirror. |
Memory and reactivation function |
Stores the adjusted mirror position in the outer mirror control ECU assembly. |
Power retract mirror function* |
Retracts and returns the outer rear view mirror assemblies when the retractable outer mirror switch is pressed. |
Reverse shift-linked function of mirrors |
Directs the mirror surface downward to improve visibility when driving in reverse and all the conditions below are met:
|
Mirror heater function |
Turns on the mirror heaters when the rear window defogger is turned on. The rear window defogger and mirror heaters automatically turn off after 15 min after the mirror heater was activated, the mirror heater continues to operate up to approximately 45 minutes. If the following conditions are not met, the rear window defogger stops operating immediately.

Front Passenger Side Door ECU Communication Stop (B2322)
DESCRIPTION
This DTC is stored when LIN communication between the power window regulator
motor assembly (for front passenger side) and main body ECU (driver side junction
block assembly) stops for more than 10 seconds.

Brake Switch "B" Circuit High (P0724)
DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this circuit is to prevent the engine from stalling when the brakes
are suddenly applied while driving in the lock-up condition.
When the brake pedal is depressed, this switch sends a signal to the TCM. Then
the TCM cancels the ...
