Toyota Venza: Removal

REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. PRECAUTION

2. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See page ).


4. REMOVE STEERING PAD

5. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY


6. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER


7. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER


8. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY


9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL


10. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


11. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE GARNISH

(a) Pull the defroster nozzle garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 4 clips, 6 claws and 6 guides.


(b) Disconnect the connector and remove the defroster nozzle garnish.


12. REMOVE ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY (w/o Rear View Monitor System)


13. REMOVE ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear View Monitor System)


14. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Seat Heater System)

(a) Pull the upper console panel sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 6 clips and remove it.


15. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Seat Heater System)

(a) Pull the upper console panel sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 6 clips.


(b) Disconnect the connectors and remove the upper console panel sub-assembly.

16. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX CARPET


17. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY


18. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY


19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH


20. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


21. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

(a) Remove the bolt <C> and screw <E> or <F>.


(b) Disengage the claw and 9 clips.

(c) Disconnect the connectors.

(d) Disconnect the connector and aspirator duct.


(e) Disconnect the hood lock control cable and remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel finish panel.


22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side (See page ).


23. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side (See page ).


24. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Push the 3 claws in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage them.


(b) Disengage the guide and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

25. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt <C> and 4 screws <E> or <F>.


(b) Disengage the claw, 3 clips and 5 guides.


(c) Disconnect the connectors and remove the lower instrument panel sub-assembly.

26. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.


27. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING ASSEMBLY

(a) Move the shift lever to N.

(b) Disconnect the connector.


(c) Disengage the 3 clips and remove the position indicator housing assembly.

28. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 screws <E> or <F>.


(b) Using a clip remover, remove the clip.

(c) Disconnect the connector.

(d) Disengage the 2 clamps.

(e) Disengage the 2 claws and 4 clips and remove the console box sub-assembly.


29. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 9 claws and 4 guides, and remove the No. 2 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.

30. REMOVE FRONT NO. 4 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for 13 Speakers)


31. REMOVE RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (for Radio and Display Type)


32. REMOVE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (for Navigation Receiver Type)


33. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (w/o Smart Key System)

(a) Disengage the 4 claws and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel.


34. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (w/ Smart Key System)

(a) Disengage the 4 claws.


(b) Disconnect the connector and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel.

35. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 clips, 6 claws and 2 guides, and remove the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.

36. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)


37. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

38. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH


39. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH CORNER PIECE LH (for 6 Speakers)

(a) Disengage the 3 claws and remove the front pillar garnish corner piece LH.


40. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH CORNER PIECE LH (for 13 Speakers)

(a) Disengage the 3 claws.


(b) Disengage the clamp.


(c) Disconnect the connector and remove the front pillar garnish corner piece LH.

41. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 4 claws, 2 clips and guide, and remove the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.


42. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 clips, 6 claws and 2 guides, and remove the No. 3 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.

43. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side (See page ).


44. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

45. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side (See page ).


46. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH CORNER PIECE RH (for 6 Speakers)

(a) Disengage the 3 claws and remove the front pillar garnish corner piece RH.


47. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH CORNER PIECE RH (for 13 Speakers)

(a) Disengage the 3 claws.


(b) Disengage the clamp.


(c) Disconnect the connector and remove the front pillar garnish corner piece RH.

48. REMOVE NO. 4 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 4 claws, 2 clips and guide, and remove the No. 4 instrument panel register assembly.


49. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY

50. DISCONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY


51. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt <D>.

(b) Disconnect the connectors.


(c) Remove the 2 bolts <C> and nut <G> or <H>.

(d) Remove the 2 passenger airbag bolts <A> or <B>.

(e) Disengage the 4 claws and guide, and remove the instrument panel safety pad assembly as shown in the illustration.

52. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLIP

(a) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the 2 instrument panel clips.
